I have a mysql database that has grown over the years and is now suffering from some performance issues as well as random connection failures and errors such as corrupt memory. the database has only a small number of tables but they are accessed frequently every few seconds. the work needed will be to initially connect to the database and make recommendations for optimizing the database and making any fixes if anything can be done immediately to improve performance. i would like to get estimates for the amount of time needed to perform this project. depending on rate, the winning bidder may also be invited back to perform additional database development based upon the outcome of the optimization project knowledge of mysql connector/odbc with vb.net preferrable but not required.

We have an audio streaming app that is currently in the app store. we have been working on an update to this app for a new release. however, we have come across a bug that we don't know how to get around. the original contractor that built the app is no longer working with the company. we can find in the code where the error is currently coming from, but the best we can tell, the code simply says "if failed here, throw up an error", but we haven't been able to track down where the root of the bug is. the error is being thrown in our audio player class, where it parses the network packets and converts them to audio packets. the code is not optimal by any means. it is messy, but overall functional. we are not expecting a rewrite of the app. we just want to get this one bug fixed and get the app submitted to apple. we expect that an experienced developer with knowledge of c, objective-c, and/or cocoa development to find and fix this bug in less than 24 hours, and less than $250. we would send you a zipped up set of source code, and you send us back the files you changed to make it work. the app needs to compile and work on the 2.2.1 iphone version (please!! no lectures on the version! we know its old, but 25% of our customers still use that version, and we intend to keep them as customers as long as they are there.) the app currently compiles and works fine on 2.2.1, except for the playing of the audio stream. we always have development projects, specifically iphone development, so if you are good, we might pass more work your way (we have several apps in development right now).

I am currently having a website being built but the person developing the site appears to be having problems with a particular page. the website is for a mother and toddler classes and the page i need is a 'find a class page' i need a page with a map of the uk. the map needs to show the names of the different counties when the computer mouse is over an area. then when the user double clicks on the county a list of venues will come up at the side of the map. at the moment there will be only one county (staffordshire) that has any venues but it is anticipated venues will open across the country. so for the counties where there are currently no classes instead of a list of venues it needs to say 'classes coming soon' i need this in a format that can be sent to the web designer currently building the site.

I represent a few network marketing groups, and we are wanting prices to develop a website for our referral and leads system. here is the basic premise: all the companies in the marketing group(s) share customer lists and leads with each other. we want a password protected site that members of the marketing group can log into and see leads, or create new and send new leads to the group or to a certain member in the group. a user should be able to create a lead, and select from a list what type of lead it is, and then type all the info i want about that info. for example, bob the electrician gets a new client, he can then get online and enter that client and job information into the system, and can specify if the leads should go to the entire group, or select a certain member or members. bob enters all the information about the client and job, and then submits. the site then emails the member(s) a 'you have a new lead' email and they can then click an link within the email to login to see the details and lead contact info. a user should be able to set from a list how long a lead is 'hot' -meaning how long long that lead shows up on the 'new leads' list. you will need to make an admin area, where admin can add/remove/edit companies, users, type of lead categories, etc we also want a public home page that everyone can see and read about our marketing group, and apply if they want to become a member of our group. make sure when you bid this, to leave yourself enough funds for some ample time to add the admin and user features that i assume will be needed that i didn't describe properly here. if this works well, we will be adding several other features.

I am looking for help programming an adroid application. it will be two fold. for phones that have motion sensor: on vertical motion play video 1 on horizontal motion play video 2 video 1 and 2 should have the ability to be altered by me. in other words i should have easy access to change/upload a new video in before going live. for phones without motion same concept as above but with button push. 4 activates video 1 and button 6 activates video 2.

Experienced java programmers and patternrecognition experts only! summary: this app will try to locate a certain object through the vewfinder. for ease of discussion, lets call this object a coke-can. we want to be able to recognize this simple object and have it updated in real time in the viewfinder. for simplicity, the object will only be in black and white and will have a simple roughly rectangular shape. there can be multiple instances of these objects so this app should identify all of them on the viewfinder. i have a few example photos where it can be tested. 1) the app should should be recognizable the object in a comfortable range of angles (so there should be allowed some flexibility in the view angle), but it will mostly be a frontal view. (think of looking at a coke can, from about 3 feet away. it would mostly be a frontal view but the viewer can be positioned anywhere within 30 or so degrees. no need to worrying about viewing it from the top, where the tab is visible or from the bottom. the frontal view is most important but should allow for some flexiblity in viewing angle) 2) once it recognizes this pattern/shape (ie: once you identify the coke-can) this app will then try to determine the dimmest few areas of that object with an on-screen display indicator which shows the percentage deviation from the rest of the object brightness. important notes: a) there can be multiple instances of this object b) this object could be upside down (ie: one could be oriented upright and the other could be oriented upside-down or slightly at an angle) c) should update in real time experienced java programmers and pattern recognition experts only.

We are looking to have an iphone app designed to integrate with our website. our website is based on a traveling music roadshow where bands can win big prizes. the website provides information on each band along with video clips and/or audio mp3 clips. the ideal app would automatically locate the person accessing (geographically) and give them updates on shows in their area. if possible they would be able to watch short clips or listen to bands from the website. a plus would be to be able to recommend the app or site to friends. we are open to any other ideas that a programmer would have in regards to making the app more appealing.

I would like to develop a community based forum website. ideally, the site would be extremely user friendly/easy to navigate. the site would have the ability to be broken down into sub communities. for example, if this were to be a site for university students, we'd have a main page universitystudents.com (made up) where general news and new posts would be posted. the main forum would be broken down into topics such as: organizations, professors, sports etc. but there would be tabs for each school that participates: harvard, yale, etc. within each school there would be a forum that is broken up into topics. the site would be enabled for advertising as well to generate revenue. the above is an example for the type of forum i'd like. ideally, the website would have the general look and functionality please submit your reasonable bids as well as links to websites that you have constructed. thank you.

Hi, i have a few small jobs needed and one that will require a bit more time. 1. install a flash show which has already been made. i will supply the file. 2. install the footer - it is located in the cpanel. 3. install 3 graphics in the welcome message area - i have them made for you already - they are a shipping ad, newsletter ad, search bar. 4. i have a graphic for a cart which i'd like to add to the banner. 5. there are blue "frames" around the product and the shipping/checkout pages which i need the color changed. 6. attached you will find what i call the product screen menu. it is a nice, custom made menu to include attributes, add to cart button, wish list etc. i would like to have one made just like the attachment or you can use the one i provided - just change the color. basically, i am trying to customize my product screen. 7. install my new logo into the banner.

The scope is to develop from ground up flash client for a game similar to this, but much simple: http://bit.ly/bhr7ao. all i need is something similar to the train tracks and stations, no moving objects. basically this needs to be like an estimating program where the user is building different train tracks and stations and the program creates the cost for the project based on what was build. there will be predefined train tracks and city buildings and the scope of the game is to find the cost of construction. most parts and pieces need to be in 3d so users can rotate and view buildings from all sides and zoom in and out. game graphics and sound and must be download after flash client starts (at run time) from the web server. here is link to graphics http://bit.ly/d9qbhd here is link to sound http://bit.ly/9j7cu4 also i need requirements for the game server. the users need to create a project from scratch on a real map similar to google maps or msn maps, users will be able to define a starting point or create a station or city and then route/trip to another station, city or an end point. it needs to work similar to google?s trip creator and the user need to be able to "drag and drop" the line to redefine the route. this functionality is demonstrated here: http://www.marsrutai.info/directions.htm ... the train tracks don?t need to follow the roads. this needs to be an multiuser game that allows each user to use a database to extract, modify or add 3d parts and pieces for the game. users need to be able to work independently of each other or on a group. this needs to be a simple but nice and high definition. parts and pieces could be imported from cad or other program to create 3d images. parts and pieces need to be associated with a item cost or multiple items cost depending of how many items are needed to build each piece. you will build the parts and pieces and a way to associate line items cost from a data base to them. i will provide the line items and associate them with the pieces created by you. the program needs to have abilities to create new or delete exisiting pieces and add, delete or modify cost associated with each piece (the cost of line for example would be build per mile and will include multiple line items like rock base, wood support, metal rails ... etc each item with its own material cost and labor to install) i would like the code to be as clean and modular as possible, with a ?master variable list? somewhere in the javascript code for me to edit attributes, ie. waypoint marker images, start and finish marker images, line/route colors, map size, starting map location, starting zoom, api key, etc etc. i would prefer the use of at least jquery 1.3 if you need to interact with the dom, as i may be altering the code at a later date. seeking someone with extensive knowledge of the google maps api and jquery, and that has done gpx and kml import/export before. please link to any examples that demonstrate your ability to complete this job. the player needs to be able to build his project on a real map so he can build his own tracks and stations on the exact location he wants and modify/move them based on existing terrain or buildings. google earth could be used as a base map for example and the user need to be able to build a new station in portland or another station in los angeles ca and tracks in between also a new website hosting the game basics, database and players info is needed. players will download the game on their computer and update from website when new information is available. i will provide more information to the selected bidder, this will be a long term relationship with the winning bidder as the game will need new parts, pieces and updates. i need this completed within 3 months of award. do not bid if you cannot prove that you can build it or your feedback is below 90%. you must sign an agreement to transfer all rights and ownership to me. thank you and good luck.

I want to setup a php script to pull twitpics - or any url from twitpic (user determined, upon script installation)), put them into a thumb gallery and be able to automatically update once a picture is uploaded to twitpic. clicking on the thumb would result in a _blank hyperlink to twitpic itself. i would also like the ability to have a wordpress plugin for this script too (later on down the road). if you could provide me a quote for the php script and then the wordpress plugin separately, that would be prefect! this is for a personal site so i would like to see a lower cost bid if possible. if you have any questions, please feel free to message me on here.
